“Constanze Ruhm presents” Lila-Zoé Krauß mit Ophelia Young (Tanzperformance) + Alexandra Wanderer (Stand-Up Set)

Dienstag, 9.7.2024, 20.00 Uhr

The first event in this year’s Tuesday@Secession series features contributions by three artists invited by Constanza Ruhm: we begin with a dance project conceived by Lila-Zoé Krauß and performed by Ophelia Young, which is then followed by a stand-up set performed by Alexandra Wanderer.

Lila-Zoé Krauß & Ophelia Young

Apparatus III: [Superego]

Apparatus III: [Superego] is a video, sound and performance segment of the multi-media opera project [After her Destruction] by Lila-Zoé Krauß, which can be seen at the Kunsthaus Hamburg from 25.05.-28.07.2024.

Social norms are negotiated between external attribution and self-description. In this 'apparatus', identifications are created that (sometimes) forcibly inscribe themselves into the body and the psyche. Procedures such as reintegration into the work system after a psychiatric stay, an application for asylum or the gender entry on the birth certificate illustrate that norms are not given, but are permanently produced. The body is not only a political archive of memory, but also the vehicle for the performance of autonomy and subjugation. Through choreographic arrangements and improvisations, Ophelia Young and Lila-Zoé Krauß enter into a dialog of movement and sound. Repetitions, disjunctions, synchronizations - understood as the practice of remembering (always differently) - are the landscape in which they search for temporary, autonomous zones.

Alexandra Wanderer

The performance of Alexandra Wanderer combines stand-up comedy with story-telling, as she recounts her experiences and interactions within the art world. Her biography thus becomes a vehicle, with the comedy set providing a perspective on the community to which we all belong. The humour is dry —dead pan— but also with moments of levity. The performance will be in English.
