Support the Secession as a vital forum for international contemporary art. Your personal contribution will help fund our pioneering programming and allow us to realize outstanding exhibitions and events showcasing contemporary art.

As a private artist-run exhibition space, the Secession is largely self-supporting. Only roughly a third of the budget is covered by grants from the Austrian federal government and the City of Vienna; the balance is raised through ticket sales and from sponsors and donors.

The Secession is listed as a nonprofit organization. Donations to the Secession are tax-deductible in Austria in accordance with section 4a subsection 2 no. 5 EStG 1988.

The Vienna Secession American Foundation was incorporated in the U.S. by the Secession and is exempt from federal income tax under IRC Section 501 (c) (3). Donors in the U.S. can deduct contributions in accordance with IRC Section 170.

VSAF provides funding support for the Secession’s objectives and activities. This has made the following projects possible:

the recent renovation and technical modernization of the Secession's listed building in 2017/2018

the development and implementation of the Secession's online archive
