Helmut Kandl (née Schäffer)
Born in 1953 in Laa an der Thaya. He pursues a concept of culture and art that is open to the applied, ranging from the creation of cultural mediation institutions (GALERIE BRÜNNERSTRASSE, “FLUSS - NÖ Fotoinitiative”, Kunsthalle Krems) to residential projects at Amtsstraße 28 and his preoccupation with cooking. In the field of research and documentation, he primarily uses the media of photography and video, often incorporating archives and private photography.
Johanna Kandl
Born in Vienna. Works in the field of research and documentation in the media of painting and video. In recent years she has focussed on historical and contemporary painting materials and their socio-economic context, studying conservation and technology at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the Akademija Likovna Umetnosti Beograd, professorship at the University of Applied Arts Vienna 2005 -2013.
Member of the board of the Secession from 1999 to 2003 and from 2006 to 2007.

Kathrin Becker has been working as Artistic Director of the KINDL - Centre for Contemporary Art since February 2020. Until 2019, she was head of the Video Forum of the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.) and its managing director and curator. She studied art history and Slavic studies at Ruhr University Bochum and Leningrad State University. Her curatorial work focuses on intercultural and transnational issues, the role of the visual arts in society and the complex of exclusion and inclusion in contemporary cultures.
