For the fourth event in this year’s Tuesday@Secession series, we cordially invite you to an evening of community in the Secession’s garden. The artist band BeAutIes oF the NIghT will play, together with five dancers invited by Samuel Feldhandler, who will perform a dance to live music.

The artists’ band BeAutIes oF the NIghT consistently strive for an intense and noisy embrace of the audience but care more for outfits than for song structures, songwriting, or rehearsals. Founded in 2001, BeAutIes oF the NIghT have performed internationally, including in London, Berlin, Istanbul, and Vienna. Their most recent album Use Filters was released by qed sounds in 2019.
Samuel Feldhandler: One After the Other (Etude)
In parallel, across each other, and together, Lena Schattenberg, Mzamo Nondlwana, Samuel Feldhandler, Susanne Songi Griem, and Elizabeth Ward dance part of the piece One After the Other (Etude), an improvisation based on the simple idea of copying music (in this instance, the music of the BeAutIEs of The NigHt) in the body, or in other words, translating it into dance. The dance is composed as a score that determines the four dancers’ entries and exits and the durations of their appearances.
Dj-set by Christian Egger aka dj show signal
After the concert, Christian Egger aka dj show signal will spin records. In his DJ sets, he explores musical reveries that arouse our attention, the shivers they send down our spines—in short, the songs that can get stuck on our minds and in our ears. Straddling the poles of abstraction and imagination, he seeks out potentials and combinations that promote the convergence of thinking, sound, and affect.

Christian Egger (drums & vocals), visual artist, writer, and musician, lives in Vienna.
Manuel Gorkiewicz (guitar & vocals), visual artists and musician, lives in Vienna.
Markus Krottendorfer (bass & vocals), visual artists and musician, lives in Vienna.
Alexander Wolff (guitar & vocals), visual artists and musician, Musiker, lives in Berlin.
